In Romania, new car registrations fell by 26.4% in Q3 2026 compared to the previous year, while moped and motorcycle registrations increased by 20.4%. Bus and minibus registrations dropped by 44.7%. Overall, passenger vehicle registrations saw a 9.8% rise in mopeds and motorcycles, but a decline of 37.3% for buses and minibuses and 19.8% for cars. In the freight vehicle sector, tractor registrations rose slightly by 0.5%, while truck registrations decreased by 10.5%. Compared to Q2 2026, new vehicle registrations fell by 3.1% for passenger transport and 3% for freight transport. By the end of Q3, 67.5% of vehicles on the road met Euro 4, 5, or 6 standards.
