The Coțofenești helmet may be displayed again on January 15, 2027, coinciding with National Culture Day. Restoration is nearing completion, with updates shared at the National Museum of Romanian History. Minister Ioana Ciocan expressed hope for public viewing on this date. The restoration, led by expert Alexandru Dozsa, involved several specialists and is focused on ensuring the helmet's integrity. Investigations confirmed that the helmet remains the same piece, with no significant new damage. However, one of the four stolen items, a third gold bracelet, is still missing, and efforts continue for its recovery. The helmet, dating back to the 5th century BC, was stolen in January 2025 and recovered in April 2026.
