Siemens Mobility and Lufthansa Technik Defense have signed an agreement to develop a medical train for evacuating injured soldiers and responding to civil disasters. The train will transport over 150 patients, including those needing intensive care, for the German army and NATO allies. The project will utilize Siemens' Vectouro passenger cars and Vectron locomotives, equipped with medical systems by Lufthansa Technik. The train will allow for basic and intensive medical care during transport, using standardized systems already proven in air transport. Designed for cross-border travel, the train can operate on high-speed lines and will have a lifespan of over 30 years.
