New car registrations in Romania fell by 26.4% in Q3 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, while moped and motorcycle registrations increased by 20.4%. Bus and minibus registrations dropped by 44.7%. Overall, passenger vehicle registrations rose by 9.8% for mopeds and motorcycles but decreased for buses and cars. New registrations for freight vehicles showed mixed results, with a slight increase in tractors but declines in trucks and trailers. Compared to Q2 2023, there was a 3.1% decrease in passenger vehicle registrations and a 3% drop in freight vehicles. At the end of Q3 2023, 67.5% of registered vehicles met Euro 4, 5, or 6 pollution standards, while 9.2% were Non-Euro.
