AUR has submitted a simple motion against Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare, questioning the accuracy of the budget deficit figures. The motion, signed by 34 senators, will be debated on November 11. AUR's leader, Petrișor Peiu, emphasized the need for Nazare to clarify the true budget deficit. The topic of potential manipulation of budget figures has been raised by PSD, urging Nazare to present the real financial situation. Nazare reported a decrease in the budget deficit by 1.5 percentage points of GDP in the first nine months of 2026, attributing this to fiscal consolidation measures.
