Farmers and food industry companies can access over 89 million euros in non-repayable funding for renewable energy projects. The AFIR has approved 60 projects under the SOLAR component, aimed at capacities over 1 MW. The funding, totaling 89,033,526 euros, will support the construction of renewable energy production facilities for self-consumption in farms and food processing units. However, 10 projects worth over 14 million euros were rejected due to eligibility criteria not being met. This program aims to promote renewable energy investments in agriculture and food sectors, helping beneficiaries reduce reliance on grid electricity and manage operational costs effectively.
