Republican Byron Donalds won the Florida gubernatorial election with 50.1% of the votes against Democrat David Jolly, marking a historic first as the state's first Black governor. His victory maintains Republican control in Florida, despite the party's losses in Congress. Donalds received significant financial backing and support from former President Trump. He celebrated his win with supporters, promising to address key issues like housing affordability and environmental protection. Jolly acknowledged his defeat but emphasized the importance of coalition-building for future elections. Other Republican candidates also secured victories in key state positions.
