American astronauts voted from the International Space Station during the midterm elections, as confirmed by astronaut Anil Menon. They filled out electronic ballots and securely sent them to election officials. NASA has allowed astronauts to vote from space since 1997, using encrypted paper ballots. The midterm elections will fill all 453 House seats and 35 Senate seats.
