The Alba Iulia City Hall will not authorize any political or propaganda events on December 1, Romania's National Day. Mayor Gabriel Pleșa stated that no permits will be issued for such activities in the city or at the Alba Carolina Citadel. This decision follows chaotic events in 2025, where political groups disrupted the celebrations. In 2026, only non-political events will be allowed on December 1, with any political demonstrations permitted before or after the holiday. So far, only one request for a march advocating for the unification of Bessarabia with Romania has been submitted.
