Alina Șerban, a Roma actress and activist, overcame significant challenges to become the first in her family to graduate high school and university. Born in 1987 in communist Bucharest, she faced poverty and discrimination. After studying at prestigious institutions, she gained recognition in the arts, including roles in Shakespearean plays and collaborations with renowned actors. Alina is also a pioneer in Roma feminist political theater, creating works that address Roma identity and history. Her recent film, Gipsy Queen, showcases her commitment to portraying marginalized stories. Alina emphasizes the importance of education and community support in transforming lives, particularly for Roma youth.
