**What was analyzed:** The appointment of General Ioan Sîrbu as the interim leader of PNL Gorj and Adrian Peiu at PNL Ialomița by the PNL leadership (coordinated by Ilie Bolojan), the plagiarism and corruption allegations against Sîrbu, his political past, as well as Peiu's political activity. **What sources confirm:** Sources confirm that Ioan Sîrbu was appointed interim president of PNL Gorj in June 2026, that he was targeted by plagiarism allegations in 2012 and a DNA investigation in 2015, and that he ran for the Capital City Mayor in 2020 on behalf of PRO România. It is also confirmed that Adrian Peiu, a former member of SOS and PRO România, was appointed to lead PNL Ialomița and voted against Bolojan. **Limitations:** None significant. **Conclusion:** Most key aspects regarding the political appointments and the past of the individuals involved are confirmed by solid evidence, the only exception being details related to Ioan Sîrbu's university studies before 1990.
