Recommended next steps
- Verify demographic data and cultural information about Görlitz from official sources (e.g., city hall, statistical institutes).
- Search for updated investigative reports regarding the explosion and the building collapse in Görlitz.
- Check official statements from German or Romanian authorities regarding the status of the victims.
Analysis limitations
- There is no external evidence for the specific population of the city of Görlitz (57,000 people).
- No evidence was found to support the description of Görlitz as 'the German Hollywood' or the list of mentioned films.
- The claim that the collapsed building had been 'recently renovated' is not confirmed by sources.
- The exact cause of the building's collapse was still under investigation at the time of the initial reporting, not definitively confirmed as 'gas explosion.'
- As of May 21, 2026, the body of the second Romanian tourist was still being searched for, contradicting the claim that both bodies had been found.
- An official statement confirming the population of the city of Görlitz and its status as a film center.
