Recommended next steps
- Direct consultation of the European Commission's database (Eurostat or DG AGRI) for the final consolidated figures of the 2024/2025 marketing year.
- Compare with a primary source (document/report) for the key figure/statement.
- Check the date and context: whether the claim was valid only during a specific period or for a region.
Analysis limitations
- Official statistics from the European Commission refer to the marketing/agricultural year (July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025) and not strictly to the calendar year 2024.
- Some of the cited evidence referred to a similar but different fact and was removed; the affected claims remain supported by the rest of the sources.
- The sources confirming reproduce the same text (syndicated pickup), so they do not represent independent verifications.
- The central claim is verified only through secondary media pickups — among the cited evidence, no primary source appears (the named publication, the court portal, the original document).
- A subsequent official review of the European Commission's data that modifies the reported export volumes for the 2024/2025 season.
