Verdict: TRUE

Confidence: 95%
Evidence quality: PUTERNICĂ
**What was analyzed:** The claim that Romania became the largest exporter of wheat in the European Union in 2024. **What sources confirm:** Multiple news sources, citing data from the European Commission, confirm that Romania was the largest exporter of soft wheat in the EU for significant periods during the 2024/2025 agricultural season, which began on July 1, 2024. Articles published in November 2024 and January 2025 report this performance, indicating that Romania ended 2024 in this leading position. **Limitations:** There is no single source that provides a consolidated final statistic for the *entire* calendar year 2024, but the data for the 2024/2025 agricultural season (which covers the second half of 2024) is consistent. **Conclusion:** The claim is TRUE, supported by data from the European Commission reported by the national press.
