On World Animal Day, over a thousand animal lovers protested in Bucharest, demanding better protection for animals from the government. The event, organized by more than 70 NGOs, highlighted issues such as the need for stricter penalties for animal cruelty, the closure of public shelters, and a national sterilization program. Protesters from various cities across Romania gathered to voice their concerns about the euthanasia of over 200,000 dogs in recent years, calling for an end to such practices and advocating for a better life for animals.
