On October 5, students and teachers will not attend classes due to World Teachers' Day, recognized as a non-working day in education. Following this break, classes will resume until October 23, 2026, before the autumn vacation begins. Established in 1994 by UNESCO, this day commemorates the signing of the 1966 Recommendation on the Status of Teachers. This recommendation, along with the 1997 one on higher education, serves as a global framework for teachers' rights and responsibilities. In Romania, World Teachers' Day has been distinct from Teacher's Day since 2013.
