DIICOT prosecutors requested his arrest for 30 days, while he contested the judicial control measure. This hearing follows the postponement of his trial with mercenary Horațiu Potra. Georgescu faces charges of complicity in attempted actions against constitutional order and for continuously communicating false information. Last week, he was placed under judicial control by the Bucharest Tribunal, which rejected the DIICOT's request for preventive arrest. The decision came after he spent a night in custody following searches and hearings conducted by DIICOT.
