Zelenski l-a demis pe comandantul-șef al armatei, la presiunea străzii. Îl înlocuiește gen. Mihailo Drapatîi • Newsweek România

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Oleksandr Syrskyi as the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces amid public protests, appointing General Mykhailo Drapatiy as his successor. The protests were sparked by the dismissal of Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, who had disagreements with Syrskyi over military reforms. Zelensky praised Syrskyi's contributions to Ukraine's defense but acknowledged the need for change. Drapatiy, known for his role in the 2014 Mariupol incident, has been tasked with renewing the military's structure and addressing immediate and medium-term challenges. Zelensky also offered Fedorov a new government position to unify technological efforts in the state.
