Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Rustem Umerov as the new head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, following a broader security leadership reshuffle. Ihor Klymenko will take over Umerov's previous role as Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council. Umerov's new responsibilities include diplomacy and negotiations related to the ongoing war. He previously led peace talks with Russia and engaged with U.S. representatives on peace proposals.
