Zegrean, despre planul PNL de a sesiza CCR dacă Nicușor Dan nu convoacă alegerile anticipate: „Poate că ei citesc o altă Constituție”

Augustin Zegrean, former president of the Constitutional Court of Romania, criticized PNL's plan to challenge the constitutionality of Nicușor Dan's decision regarding early elections. He emphasized that the president has the discretion to either call for early elections or propose a new prime minister. Zegrean deemed PNL's intentions unconstitutional, suggesting they misinterpret the Constitution. He noted that if early elections are called, the current Parliament would remain in a limited capacity until a new one is formed. PNL's vice president, Alexandru Muraru, stated they might seek a ruling from the Constitutional Court if the proposed government is rejected and early elections are not convened.
