The northern runway was shut down around 8 PM local time, followed by the southern runway shortly after. Operations resumed at 9:05 PM. Berlin Brandenburg Airport has recorded the highest number of drone sightings in Germany this year, with 28 incidents in the first half, compared to only eight in all of 2022. This increase has raised concerns about air traffic safety.
