Yukanna, the first rescue dog from Alba, has passed away, leaving a legacy of heroism in search and rescue missions. This Golden Retriever, trained for urban and avalanche rescues, participated in numerous national and international competitions. She retired in 2025 at the age of 11 and was involved in significant rescue operations, including aiding in Turkey after the 2023 earthquake. The news of her death was shared by the Romanian Mountain Rescue Dogs Association, expressing condolences and highlighting her impact on the community. Yukanna's legacy will continue through her successor, Kamura.
