XTB: AI ar putea pune presiune pe facturile la electricitate

The rapid growth of artificial intelligence and massive investments in data centers may increase electricity demand and consumer bills, according to XTB analysis. Analysts highlight that the financial markets are increasingly influenced by AI industry prospects, with tech companies heavily investing in necessary infrastructure. A significant challenge is the energy consumption of data centers, which could lead to higher electricity tariffs for consumers. By 2032, data centers are expected to account for 70% of the electricity demand increase in the U.S. The country will need an additional 450-600 gigawatts of installed capacity to meet this demand. Most new energy projects are renewable, but their output is weather-dependent, potentially causing supply fluctuations.
