Wizz Air is reducing operations at Iași International Airport, discontinuing flights to Istanbul and Prague this fall. The airline expects an 18% decrease in capacity over the next year, attributed to rising fuel costs and changing passenger flows. CEO József Váradi describes the withdrawal as mostly temporary, indicating potential for new destinations in the future. The return of flights to Chișinău has shifted some traffic away from Iași. Additionally, rising fuel costs may lead to higher ticket prices, particularly in winter. Wizz Air will monitor demand and could reinstate capacity if conditions improve.
