West Nile câștigă teren în Franța. Care sunt simptomele virusului transmis de țânțari
The West Nile virus is increasingly spreading in France, with 161 infections and five deaths reported since May 1. The National Health Authority warns about the virus's transmission from mosquitoes to humans, originating from birds. Public health agency Santé Publique France noted a rise in cases, with 28 asymptomatic infections detected during routine blood donor screenings. Compared to 2025, when only 62 cases were reported, the current figures are alarming. Symptoms can resemble flu, and in rare cases, the virus may lead to severe conditions like encephalitis or meningitis. The virus was first identified in Uganda and has recently been found in Île-de-France, including Paris. Romania has also reported 14 infections this season, with 14 areas identified as at risk.
