U.S. Ambassador to NATO, Matthew Whitaker, expressed disappointment over the lack of progress and emphasized the need for Czech commitment to military spending. The current government has reduced the proposed defense budget, citing infrastructure needs, but plans to reach 2% of GDP next year. Prime Minister Andrej Babis stated that they inherited a financial deficit and are striving for gradual increases in defense spending.
