Vulturul de o tonă și grifonii, din nou pe Palatul Universității, după 82 de ani de absență. E prima etapă din refacerea integrală a frontonului clădirii-monument • Știri București

On August 8, 2026, traffic on Regina Elisabeta Boulevard was restricted for the installation of a bronze eagle on the University Palace, marking its return after 82 years. The project, valued at around 2 million lei, involves the eagle and two griffins, weighing a total of 1.6 tons, crafted by sculptor Alexandru Siminic. This restoration is part of a larger effort to fully restore the original fronton designed by architect Alexandru Orăscu in the 1860s. The University Palace, a national historic monument, is undergoing significant restoration with an investment of approximately 315 million lei, initiated in January 2023.
