Romanian citizens seeking bank loans may soon experience a new electronic process for income verification, as ANAF plans to implement a digital mechanism for sharing tax information. This change, currently in draft form, aims to streamline the consent process for data sharing between taxpayers and banks through the Virtual Private Space. While this could simplify the verification process, it does not alter the banks' criteria for loan eligibility. ANAF will not decide on credit approvals; it will only provide necessary tax information. The new system is still in the proposal stage and is not yet mandatory, meaning current procedures remain in place until finalized.
