Volkswagen recheamă în service peste 70.000 de mașini electrice din cauza unor baterii defecte
Volkswagen is recalling nearly 72,700 electric vehicles due to defective batteries, as reported by Germany's Federal Motor Transport Authority. The recall affects around 10,000 cars in Germany, primarily from the ID range. Internal quality checks revealed that some battery cells did not meet standards due to a manufacturing defect from suppliers. This issue could lead to increased thermal demand on the batteries, potentially causing fires in extreme cases. Models affected include ID.3, ID.4, ID.7, and ID.Buzz, produced between 2022 and 2025, along with Cupra Born models. Customers will receive written notifications, and charging will be limited to 80% until inspections are completed. Previous recalls this year involved over 90,000 vehicles for similar battery issues and over five million for steering system corrosion.
