Volkswagen is recalling nearly 72,700 electric vehicles due to defective batteries, affecting around 10,000 in Germany. The recall targets models like ID.3, ID.4, ID.7, and ID.Buzz, produced between 2022 and 2025. The issue stems from a manufacturing defect at suppliers, potentially leading to overheating and fire risks. Affected customers will receive notifications, and charging will be limited to 80% until inspections are completed. Previous recalls this year involved over 90,000 vehicles for similar battery issues and five million for steering system corrosion.
