Viorica Dăncilă critică modificările la Legea offshore

Former Prime Minister Viorica Dancila criticized the amendments to the Offshore Law, claiming they favor foreign markets over national interests. She highlighted that the new legislation allows both offshore and onshore gas to be traded on the Vienna stock exchange, undermining previous provisions that required half of the extracted gas to remain in Romania. Dancila emphasized the need to prioritize domestic resources, particularly the Caragele gas field, which has significant potential to meet national consumption needs. She argued that the current approach to gas exploitation and commercialization does not serve Romania's interests.
