Vile și piscine încălzite, noul model în turismul montan
Mountain tourism in Romania is shifting towards small resorts with independent villas and enhanced amenities, as tourists seek more than just accommodation. In the first half of 2026, Romanian tourists made up 78.6% of total arrivals, yet domestic travel continued to decline. Operators are enhancing properties with features that extend the tourist season. Eskaperdo Resort in Harghita exemplifies this trend, offering villas with private jacuzzis and heated pools, similar to Western European resorts. The pricing is competitive, with Romanian villas costing about half of those in Austria, indicating a move towards accommodations that blend private home intimacy with resort facilities, especially for families and small groups.
