Viitorul reglementării tutunului în UE. Mobilizare record din România în faza de consultare publică
The European Commission has concluded a consultation on tobacco regulation, with Romania contributing the highest number of responses among EU member states. Nearly 90% of the feedback opposed new restrictions, while only about 2% supported stricter measures. The consultation process included a 'Call for Evidence' and a public consultation, gathering over 123,000 contributions globally. Critics have raised concerns about the consultation's complexity and transparency, suggesting it may not fully represent the tobacco sector's realities. The Commission will consider these contributions before proposing legislative revisions, which will then undergo the European legislative process.
