In Alba, dozens of sheep are under quarantine due to irregularities found in two transport shipments. The DSVSA Alba director announced that 40 sheep may be euthanized as their origin could not be traced. The first lot is under veterinary restrictions, while the second lot is undergoing a 21-day clinical observation. If the animals are healthy, they may be properly identified and registered after the quarantine period. The situation is critical as Romania previously faced outbreaks of sheep and goat pox and small ruminant pest, making unregulated transport a significant risk.
