The modernization of the former Oțelu Roșu steel plant continues, focusing on the rehabilitation of an industrial hall for producing high-strength steel cables. This project is part of UMB's strategy to secure materials for major infrastructure projects. The facility, named Hala Toroane, will manufacture essential components for transport infrastructure, including cables used in bridge construction. Additionally, a new rolling mill with a capacity of 700,000 tons per year is being established, utilizing advanced Continuous Mill Technology. This investment aims to revitalize the site, which ceased operations in 2012, and enhance UMB's production capabilities.
