VIDEO Ultima modă la păsări. Veste de cupru pentru pinguinii răniți. Piesa vestimentară le grăbește vindecarea • Newsweek România
Researchers in Chile have developed copper vests for injured Humboldt penguins to aid their healing process. These vests, made from copper and zinc fibers, are designed to prevent the birds from injuring themselves further while promoting faster recovery. The penguin population is declining due to various threats, including fishing nets and the El Niño phenomenon, which complicates their search for food. The vests help reduce bacterial growth and stimulate blood vessel formation, enhancing tissue healing. Initial results show that the penguins tolerate the vests well and exhibit improved wound conditions.
