This section has a complicated history, having been initiated by Bechtel and facing multiple contract cancellations. The Chiribiș-Biharia segment, part of the Transylvania Highway, is crucial for connecting the border with the completed Suplacu de Barcău-Chiribiș section. Currently, 5.35 kilometers of A3 are operational in Bihor, linking to Hungary's M4 highway.
