Partial demolition of a building in Rahova began on October 5, following an explosion in October 2022. Residents of the affected apartments are not allowed to retrieve their belongings for safety reasons. The demolition targets the lower floors, with five out of eight floors secured and three being demolished. A recent technical assessment revealed that a gas leak caused by a short circuit led to the explosion, which resulted in three fatalities. The project, estimated at 1.3 million lei, will take 80 days, with 30 days for planning and 50 for execution. Further assessments will determine if the remaining floors can be reinforced or need demolition.
