Tarom has officially received its first Boeing 737 MAX 8, named "Mircea Lucescu," as part of a four-aircraft order. This marks a significant milestone for the airline, which has not added a new aircraft in 20 years. The new plane, which arrived in Romania this week, is designed to enhance operational efficiency, reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions by up to 20%. It features larger windows and a quieter cabin. The introduction of these aircraft is part of Tarom's fleet modernization plan, approved by the European Commission, which aims to restructure the company by December 2026. The first flight of the new aircraft is scheduled for Saturday.
