The construction of the Apărătorii Patriei Passage in Bucharest has begun with the installation of an eccentric pillar, crucial for the bridge's metal infrastructure. Mayor Daniel Băluță celebrated this milestone, expressing confidence that the new passage will surpass the beauty of the Europa Unit Passage. The eccentric design allows for better load distribution and traffic flow without obstructing the intersection below. The project, valued at approximately 120 million lei, aims to enhance connectivity in the southern area of the city, incorporating both road and tram traffic. The construction is set to be completed by the end of the year, with the superstructure work starting in 2025.
