Benea argued that AUR should not be labeled as purely extremist anymore, highlighting a shift in political dynamics. He noted that while a PSD-AUR coalition might not be tragic, trust issues remain. Benea also pointed out AUR's role in maintaining Ilie Bolojan as interim prime minister, criticizing their inconsistency in efforts to remove him. Benea has been a prominent figure in PSD since 2016, serving as a senator and later as an MEP.
