The CEO of CNAIR, Cristian Pistol, announced that the final asphalt layer is being laid on the last meters of Section 4 of the Sibiu-Pitești Highway, nearing 95% completion. The Austrian contractor PORR is actively working with 350 workers and 156 machines. Additional works include earth laying, drainage, and installation of protective measures. Traffic on this section may open this year, ahead of the contractual deadline of February 2027, allowing for 54 km of the highway to be operational. The contract value is 1.678 billion lei, funded through the Transport Program 2021-2027.
