Romania's highway network has reached 1,430 km with the opening of 12.24 km of the Transylvania Highway, delayed by three years. The Zimbor - Poarta Sălajului section was initially expected to be completed in 2023. Additional sections of the Transylvania Highway will open this year, totaling 56.41 km. The project faced delays due to various challenges, including contractor issues and technical disputes. However, completion of the remaining sections is anticipated soon, allowing for continuous travel on the A3 highway.
