The mayor of Bucharest, Ciprian Ciucu, has sent the Control Corps to investigate Termoenergetica due to reports of both hot and cold water being introduced into the same pipe. This practice has led to concerns about pipe damage and frequent interruptions in service. Ciucu highlighted the aging infrastructure and poor management as contributing factors to the issues. He noted that significant temperature differences can cause pipes to burst. Termoenergetica is currently undergoing summer maintenance, affecting hot water supply to many blocks in the city, with a return to normal expected by September 18. The system is currently operating at 79% capacity.
