The construction of the A1 Sibiu-Pitești highway is progressing, with the launch of the deck on the highest viaduct using a special technology. Secretary of State Horațiu Cosma announced increased mobilization of the contractor and shared updates on the project. The incremental launching procedure involves pushing a metal deck with hydraulic jacks, a method suitable for high bridges. Other advanced technologies will also be used, including cantilevered bridges and the Movable Scaffolding System. The highway will feature 50 bridges, 5 river crossings, and 7 tunnels, with completion expected by 2030.
