The UMB Steel plant in Oțelu Roșu is undergoing significant renovations aimed at resuming production, with investments from the Umbrărescu family. The facility, with over 200 years of history, is set to feature unique European casting and rolling systems. UMB Group acquired the plant for nearly 142 million lei and plans to invest hundreds of millions more to restart operations, which have been halted since 2012. The plant will produce materials essential for UMB's construction projects across Romania.
