Prosecutors from DIICOT and police conducted 60 home searches in Neamț, Iași, and Suceava related to organized crime and smuggling. Two criminal groups, consisting of Romanian and Moldovan citizens, were identified, specializing in cigarette smuggling. The second group had a transnational character, operating in Romania and selling in Italy, Germany, and the UK. Various quantities of cigarettes were seized during the investigation, and hearings will take place at the DIICOT office in Neamț.
