Construction of the underground passage in the Republica area is progressing but facing technical challenges. Mayor Robert Negoiță reported delays due to difficulties in installing the sheet piles that will form the walls of the passage. Currently, only about 4 meters of sheet piles have been installed, with more needed. The mayor hopes to recover the delays and have the passage operational by next spring. The project aims to connect the Republica metro station with nearby areas and includes pedestrian corridors to ease traffic.
