The modernization project of the railway line connecting Bucharest to the Bulgarian border is progressing, with 12% completion expected by July 2026. The project, valued at 2.108 billion lei, aims to enhance 93.45 kilometers of railway, including electrification and signal modernization. Full rail traffic is anticipated to resume by September 2028, significantly improving travel times and capacity. This line is crucial for connecting Romania to the European transport network, facilitating both passenger and freight transport.
