The Romanian Water Administration has completed loading the last of four barges to redirect part of the Danube towards the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant. The barges, filled with rock to achieve a draft of 1.9 meters, will be submerged one by one in a controlled manner. This operation aims to create artificial thresholds to enhance water flow towards the old arm of the Danube. Despite these efforts, the hydrological situation remains challenging, with the Danube's flow at a historic low. Continuous monitoring and technical measures are being implemented to mitigate the effects of low water levels.
